Heavy rains had washed out some of the park roads right before we arrived so some of the park was flooded and animal viewing was not what it could have been.

Thanks a lot to the team of Beacon Safaris, my week in Kenya was awesome. I enjoyed EVERY MINUTE OF MY TRIP from the great lodge accommodations in Amboseli (Kibo) and in Tsavo (Kilaguni) and the exciting game drives (thank you John for everything). The perfect end was the 3 days in Diani Beach, a paradise on Earth. I gladly recommend Beacon Safaris for a stress free experience!

The "grid" of trenches between marshes detracted from the beauty. Otherwise awesome.

Kilimangiaro, the roof of savannah

Among the parks we visited in Kenya, Amboseli clearly stand out for the background of Kilimangiaro. The mountain, nearly 6000 meters tall, snow covered on the top, is in beautiful contrast with the low vegetation of the park. It is quite easy to take a classic photo of elefants in front of the mountain.
Trees are also beautiful, looks like a Batik picture. The wildlife is rich. Many big animals and birds.
The weather (end December) was cloudy in the morning and then improves from the first afternoon to evening.
If you like to take pictures I suggest you to use a zoom like an 80-400 mm 2.8 on an FX sensor. If you shoot APS-C it is better to have at least a 200 mm zoom. Note that you cannot use a tripod (cannot go off the jeep) so image stabilization or fast glass are a must.

Vast open marshes with abundant wildlife, and at the background the Kilimanjaro Mountain dominance.

We met a lot of animals and faced on awesome hunting of lion. We could see that lion was eating her prey. I’ve never seen such a moment ever.

The landscapes are beautiful. Some parts are desert-like and the other lush, green wetlands - topped with views of Kilimanjaro! Extraordinary! This place stole my heart!
