The colors, the sounds, the wildness, the smells, the intense intellectual challenge of learning as much as possible about all that was around me. It was a world apart from everyday life, and thus, a perfect place for an adventure.

We were only there for a day, but Botswana is a lovely contrast to Zimbabwe. Border control was efficient, infrastructure was good, and local residents did not seem to have the air of hopelessness that was present among many in Zimbabwe thanks to its economic difficulties.

Botswana holds a rich area of land - with a great variety of environments from wet-lands to bush lands to dry savanna. This makes the animal sightings plentiful and diverse in each of the parks.

I flew myself and a friend into Lebala Camp through Hank's Aero Self Fly Safaris. This was an amazing experience with the most beautiful wildlife. Everyone who saw my photos asked if they were postcards. I told them I took everyone with a 55-300 mm telephoto. The staff was awesome and I ate like a king! I have 10 friend who want me to fly them into the outback of Africa now! Summer of 2018 will be my next journey. Can't wait!! Thank you Botswana for being a true conservation country!
