Botswana's wild life is beyond compare. I was blown away in the first three hours I was there.
Our 15 day safari was wonderful. I expected to see some animals but the number we saw was incredible. The boat cruise on the Chobe River was amazing. Elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, giraffes, antelopes, hippos and warthogs (this was in the first 3 hours). We got so close to the animals. We glamped for 15 days and saw at least one new animal everyday. Tony's Mobile Safari took great care of us. The only downside about the trip was that I was unprepared for the cold. The early morning game rides are very chilly. You need a toque, gloves and a light coat. The afternoons are glorious and warm. The scenery and sunsets are magical. As to safety, the only time I felt unsafe was when a male lion looked me in the eye and started walking towards me. I was in the Jeep, of course. He walked beside the jeep and went to sleep in the shade cast by the vehicle. He passed so close you felt like reaching out and petting him. I would recommend Botswana to everyone.

Beautiful people, beautiful nature
We were told Botswana was amazing but expensive. While it was pricier than other destinations, we found reasonably priced "budget safari" options and were handsomely rewarded with close wildlife encounters, informative local guides, and the deep peace of both the Okavango Delta and various open spaces of enormous national parks. Highly recommended!

Incredible wildlife in beautiful landscape
We staying at Kwara Lodge and Gomoti Plains Lodge in the delta. Kwara was our favourite lodge , all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our guide and tracker Stanley and Eric were so knowledgeable with over 30 years experience, it really added to our experience. The natural landscape of the delta was amazing and wonderful to see it being so well protected by the local people and authorities.

The safari was really really wonderful
We did 6 days safari with Kingfisher Safari. Our guide Pilot and the crew was so caring and open, sympatic, just wonderful people. We went to Moremi and Kwahi and had a really really cool time. Even though it was rainy and high grass season we saw a lot if wild life: Elefants, lions, leopard, wild dog, giraffe, zebra, hippo and so on. We slept in tents. Beeing in the mid thirties we have to admit the heat, the confort in the tent and waking up between 5-6 is kind of exhausting. We would do it everytime again, maybe a day or two shorter would also be ok. The sceneries you see are really unbelievable. You will never forget those pictures. We can really recommend the safari and can only say good things about the crew from Kingsfisher (Pilot a tour guide was so good).

Botswana offered a total immersion in the bush with tracking of animals in their natural habitat.
We did a self-drive from S. Africa to Muan, Botswana in order to go on a mobile camping safari in Moremi Park in the Okavango Delta. The 7 hour drive to Muan was an experience in itself. Wide open country with salt pans and bush on the fringe of the Kalahari desert. Easy driving, good roads and very few cars or towns. Muan was a bustling centre serving the tourist trade for the Okavango delta. We stayed at Cresta Riley's coming and going from our camping safari, a lovely hotel with great food & service and full amenities. We went on safari with Boteti Safari's who were fabulous. The game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve were supherb. We saw all kinds of wildlife up close. So many elephant herds, giraffes, zebras and all sorts of deer. In addition to seeing lions, a highlight was a mother leopard and her cub coming out of the bush right next to us. We just can't say enough about Bostwana. The people are lovely and very welcoming, the scenery and night skies are breathtaking, and the wildlife is spectacular. Best of all was the camping experience with no boundaries and with wildlife around you. Needless to say we kept our tents well zipped at night. After 5 days in Kruger Park, S. Africa we found Botswana a much more natural and immersive experience.

A beautiful wild country
We had a lovely time in Botswana, a country with many massive protected parks. We visisted several of them allowing us to see many many animals as well as different landscapes from the Kalahari desert to Chobe via the Okovango delta. A huge area of wilderness, not many tourists, it felt really like an adventure as we did a mobile camping safari that we definitley recommend with Shipungo Safari! We spend many nights looking at the stars in the wilderness, listening to all the animals living there. The people and our guides were lovely as well, we felt safe. The weather was nice in May, dry and not too hot. Definitely recommend it, we loved it! And we finished with the Victoria falls in near Zimbabwe to conclude 2 wonderful weeks.

Beautiful
We had a great one-day trip to Chobe, Botswana while staying on the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls.
Doing both a game drive and safari cruise on the river, we saw so many animals. Our guides were all great; friendly and knowledgeable.
