Worst Weather April to May and August to October (More rainfall, forest trails might become slippery), January and February (It can get uncomfortably hot)

December to February Dry Season

  • Less chance of catching malaria, as there are fewer mosquitoes
  • It can be very hot

March to November Wet Season

  • April to August have been the most reliable months for chimp trekking in recent years
  • Much of this period is low season, so it’s less crowded
  • Migratory birds are present from November to April

  • Some roads may become hard to travel, and forest trails become slippery
