Our hosts at Muchenje Lodge took us for a day-long on safari to Chobe National Park in an open vehicle that seated 8. Our driver and guide was fantastic! Knowledgeable, a great storyteller, and infinitely patient with the tourists who wanted to stop and snap pictures every 3 minutes. We must have seen over 100 elephants and nearly as many giraffe up close and personal. We saw and photographed an incredible beautiful lilac-breasted roller--the National Bird of Botswana. We could tell from the carrion birds that a lion (probably) had killed something nearby, and the driver did his best to get us there, but it was too hidden among the tall grasses and off the road. I appreciated the fact the driver respected the protections of the park and didn't go offroad into the muddy grass. So excellent all around!

The combination of river wetlands and the dry desert makes it very interesting.

This is an amazing spot; crocs, hippos, eagles, zebras, lions, water buffalo, elephants, antilopes and much more ....they are all here.

The National Park has a good variety of wildlife, but you may find yourself in competition with a bunch of other people all trying to get the same view of the lionness with cubs or other interesting sight.

Game is very diverse and abundant in both locations. Well organized drives, perfect knowledgeble guides and drivers. Exept for rhino's we came across all kinds of species also very rare-ones. Accommodation meets reasonable standard. Staff friendlyness could be subject to improvement in Safari Inn, but was perfect in Elephant Camp. It should be stressed more clearly that luggage weight is limited to 12 kilo's when using airtransport to remote camps in tiny 6-seaters. All in all the best value for money in all safari's experienced in Africa, inc. South Africa and Kenya.

I saw so many animals nearly every moment of every day while staying at the lodge. The location and views were spectacular! This was definitely not a "touristy" place, but was very safe and accommodating to us tourists.
