Day 3
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
You'll start today by cycling through an area sandwiched between Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru (4565m), still considered by experts to be an active volcano. The volcanic landscape offers a striking difference to the lush surroundings of Kilimanjaro. There is the potential to see lots of wildlife along the route today including giraffes, impalas, baboons, monkeys, and a variety of birdlife. Once again as you cycle through this parched landscape, you will witness day-to-day life as you pass by several Maasai villages. Cycling becomes much smoother again when you reach the not-too-busy Nairobi – Arusha road.
The price to pay for the smoother surface is several medium-grade climbs. A long descent awaits you as you finish the day by cycling into the bustling town of Arusha, the main town in northern Tanzania where your overnight hotel awaits you.

Day 4
Lake Eyasi
Lake Eyasi
After breakfast, you will traverse the rough road to Lake Eyasi, another soda lake in the Rift Valley. You will arrive
in the afternoon for a cultural interaction with the Datoga people (a very interesting community). Our Datoga guide at
the village will lead the tour. You will explore the dry and rugged landscape area on foot, which is still inhabited by a small group of bushmen: the Hadzabe or Watindiga. These people still live in bands, hunting with bows and arrows; gathering roots, tubers, and wild fruits, just as humans did to survive 10,000 years ago. Another interesting ethnicity in this area is the Datoga (also called the Barabaig or Mang’ati). Initially, they were exercising a lot of rivalry over grazing land with the Maasai.

Tarangire National Park
You will depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. Tanzania’s third-largest national park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lions, leopards, cheetahs, lesser kudus, buffalos, oryx, elands, giraffes, and zebras. Post the game drive, you will head back to Arusha for an overnight stay.

The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear!
After having enjoyed the scenery, you will slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer —not to be missed!
