In the dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for migratory animals like wildebeest, zebra, common eland, hartebeest, gazelles, buffalo and elephants all of which are plenty in numbers than you can imagine. Day 3

Tarangire - Lake Eyasi

Tarangire - Lake Eyasi

After breakfast drive to the shores of Lake Eyasi arriving on time for lunch at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.
Lake Eyasi is a very scenic soda lake found on the southern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This less visited lake lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment on the western wall of the Great Rift Valley. In the afternoon you will be introduced to the extraordinary people who belong to an indigenous tribe known as the ‘Hadzabe’ (hunter-gatherer bushmen). The tribe inhabits the shores of Lake Eyasi as do the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. Visit these tribes and enjoy a tour of their homestead, learn about their traditional way of life, animal tracking, their eating habits, medicinal plants and much more.

Day 6

Breakfast and proceed for whole morning game drive in the Serengeti. After lunch, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you will make a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge where DR Leakey discovered the earliest ancestors of mankind. Then proceed on with your journey to Ngorongoro Crater arriving Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge late afternoon.

After breakfast descend over 600 meters into the floor of the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. Visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the south western corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds will be here. Later drive to Karatu for overnight at Bougainvillea Lodge.

Karatu - Lake Manyara

Karatu - Lake Manyara

Breakfast and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for whole morning game drive. Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitats attract a wide variety of animals including huge herds of elephant. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions as well as large flocks of flamingo attracted by the algae in the lake are major attractions to this great reserve. After lunch, drive back to Arusha. You will be dropped at your hotel in Arusha or at Arusha airstrip.
