Your tour begins at Hoedspruit Airport with a transfer to your private safari lodge

Fly into the frontier town of Hoedsopruit (flights not included) where you are met and transferred to your luxury safari lodge in Klaserie Private Game Reserve.
Accommodation is in six superior suites that are spacious and luxurious with a king-sized bed with fine linen & fold-away doors leading onto a private patio. Each suite has a lounge with a mini bar, tea and coffee station.
Relax before the afternoon open vehicle game drive. Engage with enthusiastic guides who interpret tracks and signs, sounds and smells. Big game abounds in this reserve and skilled guides will share with other rangers to achieve the animal sightings you hope for—the afternoon drive pauses to salute the sunset with drinks, snacks and a view to memorize. Then, by the light of the spotlight, the rangers seek the nocturnal animals now emerging to hunt. Back in camp, an inviting campfire welcomes you for pre-dinner drinks while the evening meal is set out in the "boma", an open-sky dining area.

A sunrise game drive in Klaserie Game Reserve with possible Big Five sightings

A sunrise game drive in Klaserie Game Reserve with possible Big Five sightings

You'll have an early start with tea or coffee before setting off in an open safari vehicle to discover what the previous night has brought to the drama of life in the bush.
The area available to your lodge is a vast section of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve with a healthy and stable population of wildlife and nomadic visitations from wandering herds. All of the big 5 animals are seen regularly.
The morning drive will pause for a coffee break and the animal activity will visibly change as the day moves on. Giraffes are often sighted and are sometimes as curious as we are, resulting in rewarding sightings.
Back in camp after 3 hours a breakfast has been prepared with continental and English breakfast options, plenty of fresh fruit and crispy bacon.
Relax in camp at the pool or in your luxury accommodation.
The afternoon game drive leaves as the day cools down and pauses for sundowners before going on into the evening, with a view to seeing some nocturnal animals and maybe the big cats.

A Journey Through the Central Region of Kruger National Park via the Orpen Gate

A Journey Through the Central Region of Kruger National Park via the Orpen Gate

We'll leave the lodge at dawn and head for Orpen Gate into Kruger National Park. This section of the park has an underlying gabbro dyke (the rock type) that results in open plains with occasional acacia thickets. Plains game like zebra and wildebeest love this area and occasional cheetah sightings occur as well as ostrich. As we get closer to Setara Camp, we'll keep an eye open for lions. This area is well known for its many prides of lions. Breakfast is a packed affair and it may be taken at a viewpoint or sitting in the vehicle at a waterhole. Lunch will be at one of the "rest camps". We will head back to the Orpen area on a different route and then exit the Kruger to get home around sunset. Relax at the lodge and enjoy a drink at the bar before the lodge game drive gets back and dinner is served.

Awake to the Dawn Chorus and then enjoy coffee or tea on your private patio of your luxury suite

You'll wake up to the birds and the dawn chorus, a special safari feeling and enjoy a hot drink on your private patio. On this last game drive, you might be on the lookout for that animal still on your wish list or just enjoy the wind in your hair and the fresh morning; holding so much promise in the coming day.
Both a continental-style breakfast and an English cook-up are on offer when you get back to the lodge. You'll still have time to freshen up before taking leave with fellow adventurers and setting off for the airport and your flight back to the city.
