Search for wild game including the huge black-maned lions for which the Mara is famous. Splendid cheetah, African buffalo, wildebeest (gnu), zebra, leopard, and Grant's gazelle are quite common here. Even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you! Hyenas are plentiful. Extend your drive to the hippo point where schools of hippos submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to show their displeasure. See the crocodiles sunbathe on the river banks with their mouths agape. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
