Day 1

To Murchison Falls National Park

You are picked by your safari guide early in the morning in Kampala. As you start your Uganda Safari you set off for the drive to Murchison Falls national park. The aim is to be in Murchison Falls in time for lunch. When you have finished your lunch it is time to experience the top of the falls. It is an amazing feeling to stand there enjoying the view and hearing the water roar. Have a relaxed evening at the lodge.

Day 2

Game-drive and boat-cruise

Game-drive and boat-cruise

Get up early in the morning to meet the animals of the savanna. During the morning game-drive you can search the savanna for giraffes, elephants, lions and more. In the afternoon it is time for a boat-cruise on the mighty Nile spotting for hippos, crocodiles and birds on the shores. Spend the night in Budongo forest (a part of Murchison Falls) to get close to the jungle.

Day 3

Transfer to Hoima

Transfer to Hoima

You are awoken by the sounds of the jungle, hopefully there is no drizzle in the morning because remember you are in one of the thickest rainforests in the world - the Royal Budongo forest. You have a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. After breakfast your guide take you to the town of Hoima. Spend some time relaxing at the hotel.

Day 4

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

The journey takes you through some of the greenest parts of Uganda though you will have to endure some rough marrum/dirt road - sometimes heightening the safari feeling. Be prepared for a long day in the car made easier by making a stop in a village to stretch your legs, neatly trimmed tea plantations dominate most of the gentle hills, as you leave the forested areas you see homesteads, little trading centres until your view is cut short by the misty Mt. Rwenzori.

After breakfast your guide takes you to the starting point of the trek in Kalinzu forest and you set off in to the beautiful jungle to see the chimpanzees. After the chimps trekking your guide meets you and takes you to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you are taken to the afternoon boat-cruise on Kazinga channel. This two hour boat ride is a great highlight where you for example can look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Morning game-drive in Ishasha and free afternoon

Morning game-drive in Ishasha and free afternoon

Wake up early in the morning for the drive to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth national park. Ishasha is known for its tree-climbing lions and during the game-drive you will keep an eye on the big fig trees where you hopefully will see them lazily resting. After the game-drive you head back towards the lodge for lunch and can enjoy a relaxed afternoon, either enjoying the views from the lodge or going for a village walk.

After breakfast you start off with your guide towards Lake Mburo national park. The aim is to have lunch at the lodge before experiencing an afternoon game-drive in the park. In this park you can see impalas and zebras as two highlights. Get back to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda's national parks on this Uganda safari.

Day 8

Safari-walk and transfer to Kampala

Safari-walk and transfer to Kampala

Start the day early with a safari-walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Get the experience of being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and before starting the drive towards Kampala. Along the way you will make a stop for lunch and at the equator for some photos on the spot where the southern and northern hemisphere meets. Continue on to Kampala before heading to your hotel to prepare for the flight back home.
