You will be amazed by how vibrant Kampala city is from early morning to late night! Depending on your interests, you may visit historical cathedrals, a Ugandan market, a craft market, or the Kasubi Tombs (a World Heritage Site). It might also be possible to finish off the day with a traditional local dance concert in an open-air theater.

Kampala - Kibale National Park
Today you’ll drive four-to-five hours to reach Kibale National Park. We’ll plan to have lunch in the crater area and make various stops along the way. Monkey species that can be found here include the black and white colobus, red colobus, red tailed monkey, and grey cheeked mangabey. In the forest area you’ll see butterflies and various bird species, such as the native great blue turaco.

In the crater lakes area, you’ll enjoy a village walk or a trek to the Mahoma waterfalls. This is all within the environs of the forest. You’ll spend the afternoon relaxing before transferring to your lodge in preparation for tomorrow’s adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Kibale - Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast you’ll drive through the crater lakes in the hills to take in some of the diverse flora and fauna of the area. In the afternoon you’ll depart on a two-hour boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel, which links Lake George with Lake Edward. From the boat you’ll see land and water adapted hippos yawning and Nile crocodiles along the shore. With your binoculars you’ll also have a magnificent view of the nearby birds.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
An early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park will expose us to a diverse array of animals, including the “Big Five.” There is also a wide variety of bird life here, including stork species in the wetlands and flamingos in the salt lakes. We’ll head back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon (when the temperature has cooled down a bit) go for a walk in the nearby village.

Today you’ll enjoy views overlooking the park as you eat a relaxing breakfast and review your upcoming plans. This free day can be spent relaxing, discovering the nearby crater lakes, or having the guide take you to a nearby swimming pool. The world is your oyster!

Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the morning we will transfer to the Ishasha section of Queen ElizabethNational Park. You’ll have a chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you’ll find topis, buffaloes, and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game drive, our journey continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Be sure to enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up towards the misty mountains of the gorillas. Your overnight stay will be at the Gorilla Mist Camp.

Bwindi Impenetrable - Lake Bunyonyi
You have now reached a highlight of this safari: the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point for the trek in the morning. You’ll then make your way through the jungle to the location where the gorillas are, where you’ll get to spend one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trek, your guide will transfer you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Your overnight stay will be at the Bunyonyi Eco Resort.
Lake Bunyonyi
Today is set aside for you to spend at your leisure along Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles, and bilharzia), go for a hike, take a community walk to Batwa, or just relax with a book at the resort.
