Day 1

Livingstone to Kafue NP

Livingstone to Kafue NP

You meet your driver at around 08:00hrs at your accommodation in Livingstone. From Livingstone you head to Ndumdunwezi Gate, the southern entrance of Kafue NP. Here you'll swap vehicles and you continue in an open-sided game viewer as it is a game drive into Nanzhila Safaris Plains Camp. You'll see your first antelopes like Impalas and Kudu. Nanzhila Safaris Plains Camp has its own waterhole in front of the lodge, where you'll see a number of different wildlife species coming to quench their thirst.

You chalet is facing the waterhole and since the camp isn't fenced you can expect wild animals coming through camp at anytime. Have your camera ready.

Day 2-3

Nanzhila Plains

Nanzhila Plains

A normal day at Nanzhila Safaris Plains Camp starts with an early wake-up call, followed by a light breakfast, before heading out on game drive in the Nanzhila Plains. A warming blanket is provided if the morning is cool ( May - July ). Black-cheaked Lovebirds are an endemic parrot species found in this part of Kafue NP. Eland and Roan antelopes are more frequent seen here then in other areas of Kafue NP. Late morning you' return to Nanzhila Plains Camp for lunch. After your siesta and High Tea you head out again for your evening safari in search of owls and nocturnal predators. Being outdoors most of the day makes hungry. Delicious meals are served in the evening. The day ends with telling stories around the fire.

Day 4

Nanzhila Plains to Kaingu

Nanzhila Plains to Kaingu

Today you move to the next location. After an energizing breakfast you leave Nanzhila Safaris Plains Camp and your next destination is Kaingu Safari Lodge on the banks of the Kafue River. A different scenery, with some rapids and hills, is awaiting you. All Tented Chalets are facing the Kafue River and have an extra thatched roof for extra shade and blending in with nature.

Day 5-6

Central Kafue NP

Central Kafue NP

Game drives, walking safaris, canoeing on the Kafue River, just relaxing and soaking in nature. All possible at Kaingu Safari Lodge. The choice is yours. Everyday starts with an healthy breakfast before the morning activity. You might be out for a long game drive and will have a picnic lunch at a scenic spot along the way. Please discuss with your guide the plan for the day.

Day 7

Drive to Lusaka

Drive to Lusaka

Your 7 - Day Classic Kafue Safari ends today. After a last breakfast by the Kafue River you'll load up and will be driven through central Kafue NP before joining the Great West Road at Chunga Gate.
