Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve

You will depart Dar es Salaam in the morning and travel to the Selous Game Reserve with a boxed lunch to enjoy along the journey. You will arrive in the late afternoon and take part in your first game drive along the Rufiji River. Animals make their way to the river banks to drink and the boats can approach elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, waterbuck and other game on the river banks to within a few meters. Crocodile glide in the water as your boat approaches and hippo appear within frightening proximity, grunting and blowing steam. Later in the evening you will drive to your camp where you will check-in, have dinner and settle in for your overnight stay.

Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast you will spend the day in the Selous Game Reserve to explore the beauty of the wild. You will have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park. The reserve is the largest in Africa; famous for its large groups of elephant. Other wildlife that is commonly seen are lion, wild dog, buffalo, bushbuck, impala, eland, baboon, zebra and greater kudu. The reserve was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant. Later in the evening you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Selous Game Reserve - Mikumi National Park

After breakfast you will take a wilderness walking safari under the supervision of an armed ranger/guide. Walking in the wild will give you an intimate feel of life and the excitement and risk of walking among the wildlife that inhabit the area. You will have the chance to see giraffe, gazelle, zebra, hyena and buffalo. After the walk you will check-out of camp and and begin your journey to Mikumi National Park. The route to Mikumi is untouched by civilization and is truly wild country. Late in the evening you will drive to camp, check-in, have dinner and settle in for your overnight stay.

Mikumi - Dar es Salaam

After breakfast you will check-out of camp and embark on your final game drive in Mikumi. You will cross the plains and short grass viewing kudu, antelope and gazelle while the lion, cheetah and hyena are in view looking for a meal. You will make a stop for lunch at a designated picnic site. Later in the day you will drive back to Dar es Salaam where you will be dropped off at your specified location. This is where your safari will end.
