Depart Zanzibar Airport at 7:35am, arriving in the Serengeti at 10:50am. At the Seronera Airstrip, you’ll meet your professional, experienced, English-speaking safari driver-guide. After a brief welcome and pre-safari overview, you’ll embark on a game drive in Serengeti National Park, with opportunities to witness the vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles or a pride of lions resting in the shade.

Covering 15,000 square kilometers, the Serengeti is one of Africa’s largest parks and is home to about three million large mammals and varied landscapes. The lush grassy plains in the south attract around two million wildebeests, half a million zebras, and a quarter million antelope, who undertake a hazardous journey in search of fresh pasture during the autumn rains.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

The Great Migration is arguably the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. It is the largest single movement of wildlife globally, as vast herds journey in search of water, pasture, and breeding grounds. Along with the migrating herds, we may also spot cheetahs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, hartebeests, topis, elands, crocodiles, and Thomson's and Grant's gazelles, among many others.

With over 500 bird species recorded, the park is an ornithological paradise. Ostriches roam the plains, and other notable species include the secretary bird, marabou stork, and the kori bustard—the largest flying bird on earth. Guided by our expert "wild guide," we will seek out these remarkable animals. As the day draws to a close, we’ll return to our lodge to unwind, dine, and relax by the fire under the endless East African sky.
