After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel or the airport in Dar es Salaam. Proceed to Selous Game Reserve (218.6 km), a drive of approximately 4 hours. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch, or if you're arriving late, enjoy some light refreshments. The camp is nestled within the woodland along the banks of the great Rufiji River. Enjoy the spectacular sunset over this enormous river from our comfortable rooms, watching hippos, crocodiles and birds. You will have dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.

Selous game drive
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in a modified safari vehicle with a professional guide. Experience great animal sightings, including all the great favorites (lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and zebra), as well as all the other major species, including the now rare African wild dog. You will also see a large variety of birds. Appreciate the wonderful scenery with varied topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains. In the afternoon, enjoy your packed lunch and take some time to stretch. Your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink. Enjoy a 3-hour boat safari on the Rufiji River. In the evening, you will head back to the lodge for a delicious sunset dinner when you’re ready, and then retire for the night.

Selous to Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Mikumi National Park via Northern Selous which is a 4-hour drive. Whilst on safari, you will see a wide variety of bird species, zebra, hippo, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland, antelope, giraffe, buffalo and elephant. If you are lucky, you may also spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Several viewpoints enable you to see the park in its entirety. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day and dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge.

Game drive in Mikumi National Park
Enjoy a full day of game drives in Mikumi National Park. You will have a picnic lunch at midday, and get the chance to see some of what you missed on the first day in the park. Your dinner and overnight stay will again be at the Mikumi Safari Lodge, which is located thirty minutes outside the park gate.

Mikumi to Ruaha National Park
After an early breakfast, depart by Jeep via Iriginga town toward Ruaha National Park (274 km) with packed lunch boxes. You will be passing through the countryside and will see beautiful scenery, valleys and mountains. Upon arrival, you will visit the museum which holds the head of the great local chief Mkwawa, who resisted the Germans in Iringa town. You will then drive to the lodge/hotel.

Game drive in Ruaha National Park
After breakfast at the lodge/hotel, experience a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Between two rivers, Njombe to the north and Ruaha to the east, you'll find the great Ruaha River. It flows along its entire eastern border, creates spectacular gorges and scenery, and features a large number of hippos. The park supports several antelope species that are uncommon in most of Tanzania, such as greater kudu, sable, and roan, as well as crocodiles. Return to the lodge for your overnight stay.

Game drive in Ruaha National Park
Enjoy another full-day game drive in the park with packed lunch boxes. You will spend the day discovering and exploring Ruaha National Park. The park is also known for its sable and roan antelopes, and its rich birdlife. It is also home to herds of more than 10,000 elephant, vast concentrations of buffalo, gazelle and over 400 bird species. Return to the lodge for your overnight stay.
