Maun to Moremi Game Reserve

We will pick you up from your lodge in the morning and start the journey northwards to Moremi Game Reserve for a two-night stay.

Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango Delta and covers about a third of the total land area of the Okavango Delta. At about 3900 square kilometers, Moremi is unfenced, allowing free movement of animals within the Okavango Delta according to their seasonal migrations. Moremi boasts diverse ecosystems ranging from floodplains, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands, and riparian forests, riverine to mopane woodland. Thus, with such a wide variety of vegetation comes a diverse spectrum of wildlife.

Breakfast, typically consisting of coffee/tea, juice, cereals, rusks, and fruits, is enjoyed upon arrival at Moremi’s South gate.

After that, you enter into game drive mode as the guide takes you through the varied landscapes of this game reserve to your camp to spend the night.

Exploring Moremi Game Reserve

Wake up to a very early breakfast before heading into Moremi Game Reserve for your morning game drive.

Look out for large herds of African elephants in the mopane scrub, while in the waterways, you should look out for pods of hippopotami. On the open plains, you should watch for large herds of the Cape buffalo.

You will also be looking out for the elusive African wild dogs, lions, and the elusive leopard as well as raptors such as the mighty martial eagle, tawny eagle, the majestic African fish eagle, and that incredible aviator–the bateleur, and many others.

In the afternoon, you will set off again in your safari vehicle for more birding and game viewing. Return to camp just before sunset to shower and enjoy a campfire-cooked dinner.

You have two nights at a wilderness campsite to marvel at this exceedingly diverse reserve that offers an untouched wildlife experience.

Departure

You will rise very early and greet the fresh African morning with coffee and a light breakfast before heading out on your last safari drive in Moremi Game Reserve. Early mornings offer an excellent opportunity to see predators!

You will return to camp for a cooked brunch, and after that, you will wrap up your Moremi safari.

You will be given time to collect your belongings and pack them up in the vehicle in preparation for the journey back to Maun.

Our safari ends upon arrival in Maun, where we will drop you off at Maun International Airport for your onward travel or to your next lodge, where you will relax and rest. This will afford you the time to prepare for the next leg of your journey back home.
