2-Day Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk in Nyungwe

Depart for Nyungwe with a canopy walk

After your breakfast at your hotel, your driver guide shall meet with you for a briefing about the 2 days nyungwe tour and the journey shall take us about 4 to 5hrs of drive time taking us south west of Kigali city. We shall have 1 hr lunch break visiting the kings palace in Nyanza province and proceed to Nyungwe forest National Park.

We continue the drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda deep in the Nyungwe forest with great views of the misty canopy of the park sighting many primates lining up the road like the l'hoest, red tailed monkeys and many more.

We shall check in at the Uwinka visitor's centre for a 2hr nature walk and canopy walk. Return later and drive through the tea plantations for a community walk and later check into your lodge for dinner and accommodation.

Chimpanzee tracking and departure

We wake up quite early and have an early breakfast at our lodge. Head for a morning chimpanzee briefing at Gisakura park station where we also find other trekkers. Get assigned to a park ranger and guide then walk through the forest in search of the chimpanzees. After a successful walk, you will finally see these primates in their natural habitat in the Nyungwe forest National Park.

Check out and return to your waiting car, and drive back to Kigali.
