Our driver guide will pick you up and drive you to Selous Game Reserve with a picnic lunch to be served along the way. You will arrive at Rufiji River Camp in the early afternoon, check in, settle and then head for an exciting boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. This river is formed by the confluence of the Kilombero and Luwegu Rivers. It is approximately 600 kilometres (370 mi) long and here you will see plentiful hippos and crocodiles. Large herds of Tanzanian elephants can be seen gathering around the shores of the River Rufiji that flows through the reserve. Some 350 bird species can also be found in the Selous Game Reserve. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, you will take off for a morning and afternoon game drive at the Selous Game Reserve. This reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometres. It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but more shy than the Northern Parks. The reserve gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous who was killed here during World War 1. Selous is famous for elephant, lion, wild dog, buffalo, bushbuck, impala, eland, baboon, zebra and greater kudu. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast you will check out and head back to Dar Es Salaam with picnic lunch to enjoy along the way. You will be dropped off at your preferred destination. This is where your safari will end.
