Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

The 3 days/2 nights Mikumi National Park and Maasai village tour begins with a scenic train ride on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, where you’ll be picked up by our guide at the train station. From there, it’s just a 1.5-hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll spend a full day exploring the park, enjoying game drives as you take in the diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. As the sun sets, you’ll return to Mikumi Bastian Camp for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay, ready for another day of adventure.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast. Leaving the camp to Mikumi National Park for morning game viewing is the best time for game viewing as most of the killings take place around this time. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in Mikumi. Why Mikumi shall never die? How Darwin's theory, survival of the fittest applies in the Serengeti and much much more? Later after lunch, drive to Bastian Camp for a short rest and swim in a nice swimming pool to cook your board after a long day's drive in the park. Your overnight stay is at Mikumi Bastian Camp.

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

Have an early morning visit to a Maasai village near Mikumi National Park where you will be able to learn about their lifestyle, enjoy dances, and even buy some Maasai gifts for your family. Then drive back to Bastian Camp for breakfast and pack your staff for the trip back to Dar es Salaam. You'll drop off at your hotel/hostel, airport or ferry port to Zanzibar.
