You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or from NBO Airport if you arrive early in the morning on the day of your safari. Your Shadows of Africa driver-guide will welcome you for an unforgettable Great Rift Valley safari. You’ll descend into the Rift Valley and journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, a renowned birdwatcher's paradise often hailed as the world’s greatest ornithological spectacle. Famous for the millions of pink flamingoes gracing its shores, the park is also a sanctuary for the endangered Black and White Rhinos, and the majestic Rothschild Giraffe. In addition, you’ll spot birdlife such as lesser and greater flamingoes, African fish eagles, tawny eagles, green wood hoopoes, cliff chats, great white pelicans, pink-backed pelicans, and other migratory species.

You’ll arrive at your lodge just in time for lunch, after which you can relax before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

The reserve also hosts wildlife such as leopards, klipspringers, caracals, and the majestic greater kudu.

You’ll enjoy lunch at the Lake Bogoria Spa Resort before continuing to Lake Naivasha, another remarkable lake in the Great Rift Valley. Day 4

Masai Mara Game Reserve

Masai Mara Game Reserve

On this day, we will dedicate a full day to exploring the Masai Mara Reserve. Instead of an early morning game drive, we will depart at 8:00 AM after breakfast, bringing along picnic lunch boxes.

For the remainder of the mid-morning and early afternoon, we’ll venture deep into the reserve, where a diverse array of wildlife can be spotted, including the elusive leopard. If you're visiting during the wildebeest migration season, the main attraction is the incredible spectacle of the annual migration. Vast herds of wildebeest fill the plains, but we will aim to witness the dramatic river crossings at the Mara River, where crocodiles lie in wait—an awe-inspiring event you’ll want to capture with your camera. This breathtaking sight is truly one of the Wonders of the World.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the lodge for some relaxation, followed by dinner and an evening of leisure.
