2 travelers on Start dateArusha - Ngorongoro Crater
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha, with a picnic lunch en route, and take you on a full-day Ngorongoro Crater tour. You will be taken 2,000 feet down the crater by a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Explore the crater before ascending and driving to your lodge set on a crater rim.
The Ngorongoro Crater is often called "Africa’s Eden" and the "8th Natural Wonder of the World". A visit to the crater is the main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity, and was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro. The crater has become a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s ecosystem. The crater is actually a caldera, measures 22.5km across, and the rim walls stand 600m high.
In the evening, we return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro - Serengeti National Park (Central)
After breakfast, we pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Arusha airstrip for your flight to Serengeti North. Upon arrival, meet your driver guide for a full-day game drive in this part of the park to view the great migration.
The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the "Big Five", named for the 5 most prized trophies taken by hunters. The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. The reclusive African leopards are commonly seen in the Seronera region but are present throughout the national park, with a population of around 1,000. The park is also home to elephants.

Serengeti National Park (North Mara)
After breakfast at the camp, depart with your picnic lunch for a game drive and to view the great migration.
In Serengeti National Park, wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with prides of lions numbering up to 30 strong. However, from August to October, this region transforms into a wildlife paradise. The Mara River is a key feature, and it's not uncommon to witness the herds crossing the Mara River heading north one day and then returning south a few days later. Please note that finding an actual crossing can be quite challenging and is sometimes a matter of luck.

Serengeti National Park (North Mara)
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game driving at the Mara River, viewing the great migration river crossing. In the evening, return to the camp for the evening bonfire, dinner and overnight.
Many animals start crossing the Kogatende River in August because a big group has settled in that area. From August to October, it's a great time to watch animals because you'll almost always see them crossing the river. The animals don't have a specific path they follow; they go back and forth across the river, looking for fresh grass that grows after it rains. It's normal to see many different groups of animals crossing in different directions on the same day.
