Day 1

Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

You will be picked up in Dar es Salaam and begin your safari driving to Mikumi National Park; Tanzania’s fourth largest national park. Within its borders are the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast. Mikumi hosts a wide variety of wildlife including buffalos, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, and more. Upon arrival in the park, you will check in at Camp Bastian Mikumi, have dinner, and settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 2

Mikumi National Park - Ruaha National Park

Mikumi National Park - Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey to Ruaha National Park. You still stop in Iringa Town for lunch and some shopping. Then, you will continue to Ruaha National Park. You will arrive in the afternoon and check in at the Ruaha Hilltop Lodge. In the evening, you will embark on a short game drive and then return for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3

Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, you will enjoy a full-day game drive in the park with a packed lunch to enjoy at one of the park’s picnic sites. Ruaha National Park is Tanzania’s largest park and is home to the largest population of elephants. It hosts large herds of buffalos and a pride of lions. You will see leopards, giraffes, kudu, gazelles, wild dogs, ostriches, antelopes, and a wide variety of bird species. The great Ruaha River flows through the eastern side of the park where you will see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4

Ruaha National Park/Walking Safari

Ruaha National Park/Walking Safari

After breakfast, you will enjoy a walking safari, accompanied by an armed and experienced guide who will allow you to get up close with the wildlife. After the walk, you will return to the lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will check out and embark on a game drive as you travel back to Iringa Town. Upon arrival, you will check in at the Iringa Sunset Hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.
