Day 1

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

You will be met by our office representative at your hotel who will take you through the itinerary for clarification. After the safari briefing, you will board the vehicle and drive through the central part of Kenya while viewing coffee, pineapple and maize plantations. Have a stop over at the equator line for a short photo session, then you will cross the equator line and drive to the northern part of Kenya to arrive Samburu in time for lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge. Relax after lunch and then enjoy an evening safari from 1600 hours at the reserve. Return later to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Enjoy a morning game drive with a chance to see the big cats such as: Lions, Cheetahs and Leopards hunting, then return back to the lodge for breakfast and relax for the rest of the morning. At 1600 hours enjoy another evening game drive. There is a wide variety of animal and bird life seen at Samburu National Reserve. Several large game species common to Kenya's northern plains can be found in abundance here, including the following: Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich, Grevy's zebra, Oryx and reticulated giraffe. Lions, cheetahs and leopards can also be found here, as well as the elephant, Cape buffalo and Hippopotamus. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 3

Samburu to Lake Naivasha

Samburu to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you will enjoy an en route game drive as you drive out of the reserve. Exit and drive through the Great Rift Valley to arrive Lake Naivasha in time for lunch at Naivasha Sopa Resort. Enjoy an afternoon boat ride at the lake with a chance to see fish eagles fishing, pelicans, cormorants, king fishers among other birds. Lake Naivasha is also home to many wildlife such as: Hippos, wildebeests, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Gazelles, among others. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort.

After breakfast you will drive on the floor of the Great Rift Valley to arrive in time for lunch at the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Relax in the lodge after lunch. At 1600 hours enjoy an exciting evening game drive at the reserve with chances to see Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Impalas, Zebras, Wildebeests, Gazelles, Hyenas among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

This day is spent exploring the park with an early morning and a late evening game drive or you can opt for a full day game drive and drive slowly to the Mara River where the massive migration and river crossing of wildebeests take place annually between July and September which is also referred to as the seventh wonder of the world. Masai Mara National reserve is a vast 1510 sq km savanna grassland and is known to host the biggest population of wildlife and no matter where you drive in the Mara you are sure to see wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 6

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Masai Mara to Nairobi

On this day you will have breakfast, then check out of the lodge and depart for Nairobi through the breathtaking views of the Great rift valley. You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
As well as the wildlife, the park is home to the community of Masai warriors. Their bravery is known the world over in their battles with the animals of the savanna, and they welcome you into their culture with traditional song and dance. You have a chance to witness their culture and visit a home to better know their extraordinary way of life. This visit is optional and there is an extra fee of US$30 applicable.
Optional activities on this day can be, half day city tour, cultural experience at the Bomas of Kenya and dinner at The Carnivore restaurant for exotic meals(to be paid direct).
