Transfer to Kapama Private Game Reserve

You will be picked up by your Mr. Shuttle driver/guide from O.R Tambo International Airport or surrounding hotels and depart to Kapama River Lodge in Hoedspruit. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be assisted with your check-in for the 4-night stay and have time to settle into your room. Depending on your time of arrival, lunch can be arranged. Later in the afternoon, you will depart for your first evening game drive accompanied by a skilled ranger and tracker, to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species. Since this is a Big Five reserve, seeing lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo is possible. After your game drive, you will head back to the lodge for dinner.

The old-world African atmosphere is carried through to meals, which are à la carte. Dinner is usually enjoyed in the rustic outdoor boma around an open fire. This is true African-style dining, with the roar of lions and the calls of jackals and hyenas as natural background music.

Full days at Kapama

The day starts with an early wake-up call. Tea and coffee are enjoyed before heading out at first light on your morning game drive. While seeing big game is always exhilarating, many other smaller species are also captivating. Birding enthusiasts will be delighted at the approximately 350 species of birds recorded in the reserve. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for breakfast.

During the day, you will enjoy lunch. Everyone will gather around in the late afternoon to head out with your ranger and tracker for the evening game drive, Whereafter you will return to the lodge for dinner.

Return to Johannesburg

After breakfast, your driver guide will meet you for your return transfer back to OR Tambo.
