After a welcome and briefing at your hotel, you will travel to the Lake Manyara National Park. This small park is a paradise for serious and amateur bird-lovers as this small park is home to over 400 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, storks and cormorants. Many mammals, such as bushbucks, waterbucks, wildebeests, zebras, baboons, monkeys, lions and leopards can be seen roaming the forest and the acacia-dotted plains of the park. Mto wa Mbu – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha/Moshi
After a sumptuous breakfast prepared by your genius cook, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is 18 km wide and with walls of 600m deep, it forms the habitat for thousands of mammals. Here you have the possibility of seeing a huge variety of animals in a relatively short time including the ‘Big Five’ – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Other animals include hyenas and large herds of zebra, eland and wildebeest. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater and continue the game drive after the break. Later in the afternoon, you will travel up the steep walls of the crater to return to Moshi/Arusha, where your will arrive in the early evening.
