Day 1

Arusha/ Ngorongoro Crater

Arusha/ Ngorongoro Crater

Another must-see destination in Tanzania is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, located in northern Tanzania. Thought to be the result of a volcanic explosion, this fertile valley is one the most beautiful natural wildlife safari destinations in the world and has even been named one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. The enclosed nature of the crater has created an ecosystem all of its own, resulting in some of the best opportunities to spot game. It also has the densest known population of lions. Buffalo, elephants, leopards, and rhinos can also be seen here, in addition to a host of other well-loved African classics like the ostrich, zebra, cheetah, wildebeest, gazelle, and even hippos, after the extensive game viewing in the crater, we will be driving to Serengeti for your dinner and overnight stay waiting for your epic adventure to continue on the following day.

Enjoy your breakfast in the Serengeti and head out for the game drive, The Great Migration is the most dramatic wildlife spectacle on the planet and there is only one place in the world where it takes place: Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Every year millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle make their way from the Ndutu region in the south of the Serengeti, across perilous river crossings and huge expanses of grassy plains, to reach fresh green grass that comes with seasonal rains as they move northwards. For many months of the year, the vast herds can be seen in different parts of the Serengeti: calving at the start of the year, river crossings in the middle of the year, and the return journey from the Masai Mara at year’s end and this makes the park visited throughout the yea.

Serengeti/Ngorongoro Highland

Serengeti/Ngorongoro Highland

Today you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast, to spot the animals when they are more active, and also to have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. The sunrise in the African savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, you will return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, you'll transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. With walls 2,000ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq miles, the crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhinos. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingoes, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.

Hadzabe & Datoga village experience to Arusha

Hadzabe & Datoga village experience to Arusha

The Hadza, or “Hadzabe tribe” is an indigenous ethnic group in north-central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. This cultural experience is one of the most sensitive cultural encounters available in the world today. The essence of Hadzabe culture can be summed up in one word: Harmony. They live in harmony with each other, nature, and themselves, it is almost impossible to spend time with traditional hunter-gatherer tribes and not affect the way they live. But the Hadzabe in Northern Tanzania lives today as they have lived for thousands of years: hunting for game with bows and arrows, gathering honey from the beautiful African baobab trees, and digging for roots and tubers from deep within the arid ground of the acacia bushland. And this will really bring a deep sensitivity to your African culture. After having the lessons, you will depart to Arusha for your onwards departure.
