The concentration of game is exceptional at Tarangire and you’ll see large populations of zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, eland, impala and warthog as they go in search of water. Lions and spotted hyenas follow the wildlife accordingly, making for brilliant game viewing around the rivers and waterholes. Lions and leopards can be found throughout the park, however, cheetahs are mostly found in the open areas of the south. The park is also known for its ancient baobab trees and its prolific bird species. Explore Serengeti National Park

You will spend the full day exploring Serengeti National Park with your private guide. Perched on a hilltop, Kiota Camp offers a bird's-eye view of the Seronera River Valley's abundance. Birds play an important part in Kiota's design and atmosphere. Hand-painted lilac-breasted rollers decorate the bed covers, and every side table holds an ornithology reference and a pair of binoculars.

Every year, over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate north from Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya. The herds must brave the perilous Mara River, which runs through the Masai Mara National Reserve on the Kenyan and Serengeti National Park on the Tanzanian sides. They face treacherous water currents and dangerous predators as they cross the river in search of greener pastures. With crocodiles lurking in the muddy waters and lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas patrolling the river banks, this is a particularly dangerous time to be a wildebeest or a zebra.
