The concentration of game is exceptional in Tarangire and you’ll see large populations of zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, eland, impala and warthog as they go in search of water. Lions and spotted hyenas follow the wildlife accordingly, making for brilliant game viewing around the rivers and waterholes. Lions and leopards can be found throughout the park, however cheetahs are mostly found in the open areas of the south. Ngorongoro Crater descent & on to the Serengeti

After an early breakfast you'll descend down to the Crater floor to explore the wildlife within. You can expect to see a diverse range of wildlife, including buffalo, warthog, wildebeest, zebra, hippo and elephant. There’s also a huge population of predators: lion, hyena, jackal, cheetah and leopard. The resident population of black rhino is a real treat, as they’re very difficult to spot elsewhere in Tanzania.

We have a picnic lunch at a scenic location in the Crater and then game drive into the Serengeti this afternoon. The Serengeti offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa and is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth, the Great Migration. Every year, over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate north from Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya.

You will end the day at your camp in the Serengeti and enjoy the comforts of your accommodation as you spend your first night beneath the magical Serengeti stars.

Explore Serengeti National Park

As part of the annual cycle of the Great Migration, the herds must brave the perilous Mara River, which runs through the Masai Mara Game Reserve on the Kenyan side and Serengeti National Park on the Tanzanian side. They face treacherous water currents and dangerous predators as they cross the river in search of greener pastures. With crocodiles lurking in the muddy waters and lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas patrolling the river banks, this is a particularly dangerous time to be a wildebeest or a zebra.

You can also enjoy bush walks in the Serengeti led by local Maasai warriors, providing an authentic walking safari experience.
