Day 1

Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

You will start your drive to western Uganda through the beautiful green scenery and the tea plantations. You will have a chance to interact with local people during the walk through the market after lunch. After lunch, you will have a one hour drive to Kibale forest where you will be able to spot some monkeys, birds, and baboons on your way and during the stop-over. After that, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking

Chimpanzee Trekking

Today you will have your breakfast at the lodge and prepare for your trip for Chimpanzee walk. Kibale Forest National Park consists of around 13 primate species. While at the park, you will be able to see many types of monkeys like the wonderful Red Columbus, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Black and white Columbus monkey, L’hoest monkey, and the amazing Chimpanzees. Here, along with your experienced guide, you will be able to see primates for about one hour, and the trip takes 3-4 hours to walk through the tropical rainforest with the experienced guide. After lunch, you will visit Bigodi swamp for a walk to spot some monkeys and bird species. That takes you through grassland, to small communities where the locals are very enthusiastic to shake hands with white people, and through coffee plantations and people's gardens to see how they do daily work.

Day 3

Kibale – Bwindi impenetrable National Park

Kibale – Bwindi impenetrable National Park

After early breakfast, you will start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through tea plantations and arriving there in the afternoon. Check-in at the lodge to relax, and after some time relaxing, go for a nature walk which takes about 2 hours before coming back for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Bwindi Impenetrable NP Gorilla Trekking

Bwindi Impenetrable NP Gorilla Trekking

After your breakfast, along with your packed lunch, you will report to the park premises for registration by 8:00 am and be briefed by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You will then start to trek through the bumpy bushes in search of the amazing Gorillas. There is also a great opportunity of seeing other species like birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, and beautiful butterflies among others. The trek could take 1-8 hours and depends on the luck of the day. Once you come across these interesting creatures, it is a really an exciting experience watching them protest or play with each other, and it's really a special moment to be with these fabulous human-like primates. The time allowed to be with these gorillas in Uganda is 1 hour and every minute of the experience is worth the time you spend in search of them. As you retire from the forest, you could take an optional activity like visiting the pygmies, or you can relax at the lodge.

Day 5

Drive Back to Kampala

Drive Back to Kampala

Today is the last day of your trip! After your breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala as you view beautiful sceneries along the way. You will have lunch en-route and thereafter proceed and have another stopover at the equator for the water experiment if you happen to have missed it on the 1st day of your trip.
