Day 1

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be welcomed by an Aquila Venture transfer driver and taken to Tulia Hotel and spa or similar within Arusha. The rest of the day will be at leisure and you can relax at the hotel. In the evening, you will attend a briefing in preparation for the upcoming safari. Accommodation is on a bed and breakfast.

Day 2
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
In the morning you will be collected from your hotel in Arusha and make your way to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will scan the seasonal swamps, savannah, and Tarangire River in search of zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hartebeest, elephants, giraffes, waterbuck, and reedbucks. With a bit of luck, you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards lying lazily in the trees above. After an extensive game drive, having experienced the various sights and sounds of the wilderness, you will leave the park and head to Fanaka lodge, where you will stay the evening.

Day 3
Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will continue to the lush highlands where crops such as wheat, corn, and coffee are grown. Traveling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area you might stop for a breath-taking view over the Ngorongoro Crater before you continue to the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Masai and you will see the grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. Bizarre rock formations dot the grassy landscape where predators roam. Blue wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras, and buffaloes are on their menu. Through the high and open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to enjoy the diversified habitats and landscapes of the park. You will arrive in the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay at the Embalakai Authentic Camp.

Day 4
Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Area

After breakfast, you will join another game drive in the Serengeti National Park and you might spot animals you haven’t seen during the last two days. The Serengeti is also home to the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – and today you might be able to see all the members of this group. After lunch at a picnic site, you will drive in direction of the Ngorongoro Crater and as soon as you have reached the edge of the crater, the caldera opens up before you. This approximate 20 km wide crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over 25,000 animals. You will drive to Fanaka Lodge from where you can witness the sunset over the crater.

Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Early breakfast, you'll depart for Ngorongoro Crater; considered by some to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. When you get your first glimpse of this vast, verdant caldera from the panoramic viewpoint, you'll soon understand why it has earned such a lofty reputation. It's a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water.
From the comfort of your open-top vehicle. The crater has many predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, as well as a large population of wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cape buffalo, and more. It is truly one of Africa's premier safari destinations.
After the thrills and excitement of the day, you will have a picnic lunch by the parks. Thereafter, drive back to Arusha for your flight connection at 19:40 pm from JRO airport to Zanzibar or overnight at your hotel of choice at Arusha.
