Day 1

Nairobi - Aberdare National Park

You will be met in Nairobi or JKIA Airport by the company representative and the driver guide, briefing about your safari then depart for the Aberdare National Park. The 3 hours’ drive gets you at your base hotel; the Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Ark Tree Lodge located inside the Park. Here you will watch wildlife from the comfort of the hotel / at the safety of your balcony. The habitats of this park include the Lion, Leopard, African Elephant, African Hunting Dog, Giant Forest Hog, Bushbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Cape Buffaloes, Suni, Side-Striped Jackal, Eland, Duikers Olive Baboon, Black and White Colobus Monkey and Sykes Monkey. Rarer sightings include those of the Golden Cat and the Bongo - an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. Dinner and overnight stay as you continue watching the game at the salt lit water hole.

Day 2

After breakfast you will depart for a scenic drive to the Samburu National Reserve to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, there is little time to settle in or have a quick nap before you set off on the first game drive. Surrounded by interestingly shaped hills, you will fall in love with this region.

Your afternoon drive will usually have you back in the lodge by sun down, but it all depends on what enthralling sightings you come across. Look out for the Samburu special five, which include the Beisa oryx, the Reticulated giraffe, the Gerenuk, Samburu ostrich, and the Grevy’s zebra, as well as the big cats, and everything else in between. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 3

Start your day with an early morning wake-up call so that you never miss a moment of the action. A morning game drive is often the best time to see many animals on the move before the heat of the day sets in. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to relax and absorb the unique atmosphere of Africa, as you gaze out over the plains.

You can enjoy the refreshing swimming pool before and after lunch, and then it will be time to set out into the reserve again on your afternoon game drive. In addition to all the animals already mentioned, keep a look out for olive baboons, warthogs, and many species of antelope. There are also over 350 recorded species of birds in this reserve including kingfishers, sun birds, bee-eaters, storks, hornbills, and many raptors.

After breakfast you will depart for the famous Sweet Waters – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Sweet waters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi. You arrive in time for lunch at the camp. After lunch you start your exploration with a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens! This conservancy boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Moreover, the camp has its own private waterhole and salt lick so you will be guaranteed unprecedented close encounters. Whether its game drives, lion tracking or relaxing by pool, Sweet waters is bound to delight.

Day 5

Ol Pejeta - Lake Naivasha

After breakfast you will depart for Lake Naivasha, one of the Kenyan fresh water lakes. One your way you will have a stopover at the breathtaking Thompson Falls in Nyahururu. You will then proceed to arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. Lunch is followed by an afternoon boat ride at the lake where the driver will assist you get the boat men who will take you for the boat ride to Lake Naivasha. The boat takes you on a scenic tour of the lake with a visit to the Crescent Island which is an Animal and Bird Sanctuary on the Eastern Side of Lake Naivasha. A number of mammals can be seen grazing in the surrounding lake environs such as Maasai giraffe, zebra, dik diks, steenbok, impala, gazelles and, at night, hippos. You spend some time wandering around at your own pace and enjoy the peace and quiet broken only by the sounds of the Islands wild inhabitants. At 1700 hrs you will return to where you had left your driver then drive to the lodge.

Day 6

Depart Lake Naivasha early in the morning, drive to Maasai Mara passing through the beautiful flower farms of Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch. Stopover briefly in Narok town, the proceed to arrive in time for lunch. Upon arrival you will check in, have lunch and relax. You will thereafter take your first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa's top safari destinations. The Mara reserve incorporates 1510 km² of incredible, wide-open landscapes and fertile reverie woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open Savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Returning from your foray into Maasai Mara you will have dinner and relax under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of the bush.

You will be picked from the lodge at 0500 hrs, transfer to the Balloon launch site for your for a briefing. After this the hot air balloon will take off. You will soar high over the Savannah plains while wildlife roams wild and free beneath you. A gentle ascent takes you well above tree-top level and the whispering light breeze soothes the hearts as you enjoy a panoramic view of wildlife drama. Nature’s battle of predators verses the prey is constantly displayed. It’s a worthy ride which lasts for about one hour depending on the weather conditions, on landing you will celebrate in the traditional manner with champagne breakfast prepared and served in the bush in 'Out of Africa' style. After breakfast you will proceed for the day’s game drive to further explore the rolling hills and the grasslands in this vast game reserve. It is common to see the lions either basking after a meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Leopards are nocturnal, but can be spotted on a lucky day.

Day 8

Maasai Mara - Nairobi

After breakfast you will check out and go for a cultural visit to the Maasai village before departure. As you arrive there, excited children and adults welcome you with songs and dances, at certain times one of the dancers will jump up and down gracefully with jumps that are several feet high. You will then be welcome into one of the homesteads in the village huts (called Manyatta) are made of cow dung and clay plastered over stick frames. It is a memorable experience of its own after which you will embark on you journey to Nairobi. On your way you will have a stopover for lunch at Narok Town. After lunch you will proceed to arrive Nairobi at about 1530 hrs when you will be dropped at a place of your choice within Nairobi.
