Day 1

Arusha Town to Tarangire National Park

Arusha Town to Tarangire National Park

You will be collected from your hotel in Arusha by your driver-guide and depart to Tarangire National Park. This is the best place to see African elephants. You will see elephant families walking slowly and majestically. Tarangire is famous for the baobab tree, which towers over the animals and makes for a very interesting view. The Tarangire River has shrivelled to a shadow of its wet-season self, but it is still choked with wildlife. Thirsty nomads have wandered parched for hundreds of kilometres, knowing that there's always water here. A picnic lunch will be provided, followed by a game drive in Tarangire National Park. After game driving at Tarangire Park, you will overnight and have dinner at Jambo campsite at Manyara.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park to Manyara National Park

Tarangire National Park to Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded here. Even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these species in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.

The forest is the grassy floodplain and its expansive views eastward, across the alkaline lake to the jagged, blue volcanic peaks that rise from the endless Maasai Steppes. Large buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra herds congregate on these grassy plains, as do giraffes – some so dark in coloration that they appear to be black from a distance. After Lake Manyara, late game driving you will get back at mto wa mbuu.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Town

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Town

After breakfast at the campsite, you will start your safari to the Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying the dramatic panoramas as we crest the crater rim. A fascinating geological feature and one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders, Ngorongoro is a huge caldera formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano crater. Its fertile soil and permanent water support a dense population of wildlife, offering a rich safari experience.

On arrival, we descend to the crater floor for a varied game drive, sighting rhino, black-maned lion, and giant-tusked elephants as well as many more animals. In the late afternoon, we ascend to the crater rim and exit the Ngorongoro Crater. You will return to Arusha which marks the end of the tour.
