You will be transferred from Kampala or Entebbe to Kibale National Park. You will arrive at the Kibale Forest Camp in time for lunch. After lunch you will go for a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This activity is run by the community and takes you through the sanctuary that is home to butterflies, small animals and a wide variety of birds, the great Blue Turaco being the favorite. After the walk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. It is an optional activity, you can choose not to do it.

Chimpanzee tracking and transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to park headquarters for a briefing about today’s long-awaited activity; the chimpanzee trek. A Ugandan safari is not complete without a chimpanzee trek. The best place for this experience is in Kibale National Park, which hosts about 13 primate species and other endangered species including the giant hog, elephant, large cats and duiker. You will be led into the forest by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger/guides and spend one hour with the chimpanzee, learning about their habits and behaviors. After the trek, you will return to lodge, have lunch, check-out and begin your travels to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive at Bush Lodge where you will check-in, and relax for the rest of the evening.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will wake up early, have a quick breakfast and head out on a sunrise game drive. This early morning drive will allow you to view elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, kob, warthog and waterbuck during their morning routine. After the drive, you will return to the lodge, have lunch and then get ready for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat ride, you will see countless hippo, buffalo, crocodile, elephant and a variety of bird species that include the Malachite and Pied kingfishers, African Fish eagle, Spoonbill, Yellow-billed stork, Pink-Backed pelicans and more. The boat safari on the channel is one of the highlights for many people on this tour. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast, you will check-out and be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will make a stop for lunch in Mbarara. You will continue the journey with a stopover at the Equator for a photo session and souvenir shopping. After this stop, you will continue on to Kampala or Entebbe. Your accommodations for tonight are not included in the itinerary. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 10 pm or later. If you want us to book one (or more) nights in Kampala and/or Entebbe, please let us know. This is where your safari will end.
