Day 1

We will pick you up at the guest house in Entebbe or downtown Kampala at 8:00 am and transfer you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Rhinos got extinct in Uganda in the early 1980s, and the Ziwa site is being used as a breeding site for the white rhinos. Spend about 2 hours trekking the rhinos. Afterwards, we will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park.

Game Drives and Nile River Boat Trip at Murchison Falls National Park

In the morning, you will go for a game drive in the park to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, you will take a relaxing boat trip on the River Nile. Here you will have a chance to see crocodiles, hippos, and a range of rare birds. You will also see the point where the River Nile flows towards Lake Albert, one of the major highlights of this trip. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Murchison Falls.

Day 3

Drive to the Top of Murchison Falls & Transfer to Kibale National Park (6-hour Drive)

Drive to the Top of Murchison Falls & Transfer to Kibale National Park (6-hour Drive)

This trip will take you to upper Murchison Falls National Park, where you have spectacular views of Murchison Falls along the Nile River. Note that because of the current flooding of the Nile, it's no longer possible to hike to the top of the falls from downstream. The visit to the top of the falls will be driving through the new tarmac road. After the top of the falls visit, drive to Kibale National Park. The drive to Kibale National Park will go through western Uganda's major cities, including Hoima, Kyenjojo, and Fort Portal. There will be a scheduled stopover for lunch along the way. The drive should take about 6-7 hours. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Kibale National Park.

Starting in the morning at Kibale Forest National Park, you will go into the forest to encounter chimpanzees and different species of monkeys like the red-tailed monkey, olive baboon, and black and white Columbus monkey. After chimp trekking, we will drive for 3hrs to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, join the Kazinga channel boat trip. The Kazinga Channel boat cruise provides an opportunity to spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and bird species on the channel waters. After the boat trip, drive to the lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

We will start the day with a short game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the "Big Five" in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards to make it to the "Big Four." After the game drive, we will start the journey to Bwindi National Park. The drive to Bwindi National Park is estimated to take about 5-6hrs.

You will head to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park gate immediately. After breakfast, get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct a presentation that covers the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take a few hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. In the afternoon, you may consider doing a Batwa Cultural Tour and contributing to sustainable tourism efforts in the area. An extra payment of USD 30 is expected to support the Batwa community.

Start the day with an early breakfast followed by a game drive at Lake Mburo National Park to spot additional wildlife. And then start a drive to Entebbe International Airport. If interested, a stopover is scheduled at the Equator crossing to grab coffee and shop for handicrafts. After the stopover, continue with the drive to Entebbe. The estimated drive time to Entebbe is 5hrs. The estimated arrival time should be sufficient to check in for the flight if you have a flight departing Entebbe in the evening.
