Nairobi City - Samburu National Reserve

You will be picked up from the airport with a briefing, thereafter you will be driven north past the equator to the Northern frontier district. Continue to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve and check in to your campsite. There will be time to settle in before your safari adventure. Samburu is also known for some rather unique wildlife not usually seen elsewhere. A visit to the reserve will offer you the sight of memorable species such as Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa oryx. This is one of the few parks where you have a good chance of spotting African wild dogs. During the game drives over the savannah, through acacia forest and riverine vegetation, there will be numerous opportunities to view kingfishers, marabous, vultures, guinea fowls, Somali ostriches, egrets, falcons, and eagles. Set out for an afternoon game drive in the reserve and return to the lodge before dark.

It may be an unsuspecting impala or even a small animal like a warthog. Whatever the players, the spectacle of nature unfolding is always awe-inspiring!
