Day 1

Nairobi (JKIA) - Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up either from the airport or from your hotel (depending on your preference) and have a pre-departure meeting before your safari. This is followed by a drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Narok country - the land of the Maa people.

The Masai Mara National Reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains, famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and home of the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). The border splits these two great national parks. You arrive for lunch at the lodge or camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive.

Day 2

On the second day, you will have breakfast before you enjoy a full-day game drive in the reserve with a picnic lunch. The Masai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya along the Tanzanian border. The Mara Triangle borders the Mara River with lush grassland and acacia woodlands which are always good for game drives.

The Mara is perhaps best known for the great migration which takes place every year from July to September. During these months, the yellow savannah is dotted black by more than 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra, and antelope that migrate from the Serengeti to the Mara in search of food and water.

Day 3

After breakfast, head south, passing through Naivasha town. Drive around the southern end of the lake past the flower farms to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. Soon after you enter the park, the impressive landscape unfolds before you - a semi-arid world with sheer rugged cliffs, open plains, and deeply-concealed gorges.

Go on an afternoon boat ride (at extra cost) on Lake Naivasha among colonies of hippos with an ideal view. There are many activities you can do in Hell’s Gate including walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching, and trekking through the gorge amongst the geysers, the choice is yours. Enjoy a picnic lunch, and in the mid-afternoon, depart for your accommodation in Lake Naivasha for a well-earned hot shower and a cold drink.

We depart to Amboseli via Nairobi in the morning after breakfast. We drive south through Maasai country to the plains below Mount Kilimanjaro where Amboseli is situated. After an en-route picnic lunch with the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, enjoy the spectacular displays of wildlife and animals like lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, and various plains plateaus. You will get time for guaranteed postcard-perfect pictures. Later, you will return to your hotel after an afternoon game drive.

Wake up for breakfast before the full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives. This park is termed an animal's paradise. Have your packed lunch en-route to the north side of Amboseli National Park with the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro and spectacular displays of wild animals. During the game drive, observe the surrounding hills that offer panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. The varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by the vast Lake Amboseli which is often dry outside the rainy season.
