Day 1

Nairobi - Amboseli

Nairobi - Amboseli

We will pick you up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your hotel and transfer you to Amboseli National Park. The park is famous for its big game - elephants, lions, and cheetahs are the main attractions - and for its great scenery and beauty.

Amboseli encompasses 5 main wildlife habitats, plus a generally dry lakebed - Lake Amboseli. These are open plains, extensive stands of yellow-barked acacia woodland, rocky, lava-strewn thorn-bush country, swamps and marshes. At the western end of the reserve, above Namanga, the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok rises to over 2,760m (8.300ft). The reserve is still, for the most part, zoologically unexplored.

Enjoy your afternoon game drive at Amboseli National Park. Full-board accommodation is included in the tour price. Dinner and overnight are at Kibo Safari Camp.

Day 2

Amboseli - Lake Nakuru

Amboseli - Lake Nakuru

Depart after breakfast for Lake Nakuru. Enjoy your evening game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Nakuru National Park covers 180 sq km. The park is home to warthogs, waterbucks, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago, and you may find white rhinos at the southern end. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologist’s delight, with more than 400 species of birds found here. Full-board accommodation is included in the tour price. Dinner and overnight are at your camp.

Day 3

Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

Depart after breakfast for Masai Mara National Reserve. Wherever you go in the Mara, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife, such as Maasai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, and wildebeests. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. It is common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.

The ultimate action here is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. Full-board accommodation is included in the tour price. Dinner and overnight are at Zebra Plains Camp.
