Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

At 5:00am, we will meet at your hotel in Dar es Salaam and then depart for the Selous Game Reserve and enjoy a game drive. The Selous Game Reserve, located in the south of Tanzania, is one of the largest faunal reserves in the world. It was named after Sir Frederick Selous, an Englishman who was a famous big game hunter and early conservationist. He died at Beho Beho in this territory in 1917 while fighting against the Germans during World War I. Selous was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to the diversity of its wildlife and undisturbed nature. This park is home to a variety of animals such as African bush elephants, black rhinos, hippos, Masai lions, East African wild dogs, cheetahs, Cape buffaloes, Masai giraffes, plains zebras, and crocodiles, which can be found in larger numbers here than in any other African game reserve or national park. After the game drive, we will head to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full-Day Game Drive in Selous

At 7:00am, after breakfast, we will depart for a full-day game drive inside Selous Game Reserve using our 4x4 vehicle. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to spot a wide variety of animals, including the cat family (such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards), elephants, impalas, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and various birds. At midday, we will stop at a picnic area for lunch before continuing the rest of the game drive. We will return to Selous Camp in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.

Boat and Walking Safari

After breakfast, depart for a 2-hour journey to the meeting point, where you will board a boat for a safari along the Rufiji River. You will have magnificent views of animals and other species living in the river. After the boat safari, you will join a walking safari before departing for Dar es Salaam and being dropped off at your hotel.
