Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, your guide will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to Mtoni River Lodge in Arusha (a 45-60 minute drive). At the lodge, your guide will provide a short introduction and go over the details of your tour.
Depending on your arrival time and preferences, your guide will offer recommendations for the rest of the day. Relax, unwind, and enjoy your first night in Tanzania with dinner and comfortable accommodation at Mtoni River Lodge.

Day 2
Arusha National Park – Walk, Wildlife & Scenic Views

After breakfast, set off for a full-day adventure in Arusha National Park (50 km, ~1-hour drive). Start with a guided nature walk alongside an armed ranger, immersing yourself in the park’s lush landscapes, towering fig trees, and waterfalls. The walk lasts 2-4 hours, depending on your preference, offering a unique opportunity to explore on foot.
After a picnic lunch, enjoy a scenic game drive, spotting giraffes, elephants, water buffalo, Black and White Colobus monkeys, and an impressive 400+ bird species. Take in breathtaking views of Mount Meru, Kilimanjaro, lakes, swamps, and steep cliffs. For those seeking extra adventure, optional excursions (at additional cost) include a walk to Meru’s summit or a Canoe Safari.
Return to Mtoni River Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on a day filled with nature and wildlife.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Mto Wa Mbu, a vibrant town where over 100 ethnic groups, including the Maasai, coexist. Spend 1-2 hours exploring local markets, plantations, and artisan workshops, gaining insight into traditional Tanzanian life. Taste banana beer in an authentic bar and experience the warmth of Tanzanian hospitality.
For lunch, enjoy a delicious local meal prepared by a cheerful Tanzanian “mama”, featuring traditional flavors.
In the afternoon, head to Lake Manyara National Park for a thrilling safari, where you’ll encounter elephants, tree-climbing lions, flamingos, and hippos set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
As the day ends, drive to Ngorongoro Farm House for dinner and overnight accommodation, surrounded by the serene beauty of the highlands.

After an exhilarating day, arrive at Kati Kati Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the raw beauty of the Serengeti wilderness.

Day 6

For a deeper cultural experience, opt for a visit to a Maasai Boma (optional, additional cost) to see how semi-nomadic Maasai communities preserve their age-old traditions.

Spend the day exploring Tarangire National Park, a haven for elephants and diverse wildlife. As you drive through the park, you may encounter elephants wandering near the campsite or gathered along the dry riverbed.
Continue to Larmaku Swamp, a lush oasis where elephants, buffalo, and other animals cool off in the water and take shelter beneath towering acacia trees. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, the chance of spotting large elephant herds in Tarangire is an incredible 99.9%.
As the sun sets, return to Maramboi Tented Camp for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the raw beauty of the African wilderness.

Depending on your itinerary, we will transfer you to your lodge in Arusha, Arusha Airport for a domestic flight (e.g., to Zanzibar), or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return journey home. If you’d like to extend your relaxation before departure, late checkout is available for an additional charge.
