Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, have a game drive en route to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro. Afterwards, we will visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world—Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration which brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals, we will enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Serengeti Wild Tented Camp.

Northern Serengeti National Park
The landscape is different in this part of the Serengeti and is made up of hills, riverine forests, plains, and rocky outcrops. The immense Mara River cuts through this area, providing the setting for the mind-blowing river crossing you may enjoy during your time here. During the river crossing, over two million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and antelope attempt to cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing and water. While they undergo their most remarkable feat during the migration, Nile crocodiles do not make it any easier for them! On the other side, lions, hyenas, leopards, and cheetahs can be found waiting with growling stomachs and high hopes for a delicious meal!

Serengeti -Ngorongoro crater Tour- Karatu
After breakfast, we depart Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro for a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Late in the afternoon, we drive back to the lodge. The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 21km across, 600m deep, and 265 sq. km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. Grazers like zebra, wildebeest, and buffalo can be seen grazing in the open grass plains, and lions laying lazily. The forest and swamps are perfect areas to look for big-tusked elephants and hippos basking on the edges to warm their bodies. Your accommodation, Eileen's Trees inn, is located in the tourist town of Karatu and sits in a garden of flowers and vegetables.
