Karatu - Serengeti National Park (Central)
After breakfast game en route to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro. Afterwards, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world – Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration which brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. Dinner and overnight at Moyo Tented Camp.

North Serengeti Migration
In the morning, we undertake our en-route game drive to the Northern region of the Serengeti, the Northern Serengeti is a gently rolling countryside broken by small rivers, occasional hills, and kopjes. A multitudinous permanent population of wildlife resides here. There are also very striking geological occurrences such as the beautiful Lobo Kopje. The Northern Serengeti is an interesting and varied country that is far from the park's main entry point in the south hence receiving fewer visitors. The migration is found in this area during August and we may with luck witness the most spectacular of river crossings as the herd attempt to cross the Mara River and avoid the strong currents and hungry crocodiles.
After a full day, we will head for our accommodation where we'll enjoy dinner and our night of sleep under the magnificent African sky out upon the ‘Endless Plain'.

Serengeti National Park -Ngorongoro crater Tour to Karatu
Our final sunrise in the Serengeti! After breakfast, you will wind your way toward Ngorongoro Crater, hopefully enjoying more wonder on the way!
Ngorongoro Crater is concealed by the steep volcanic walls and is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, glistening lakes and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago.
The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself. When you reach the crater floor, you'll quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhinos, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.
After a full afternoon inside the crater, you will drive to your accommodation in Karatu.
