Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast in Nairobi (included), we will collect you from your hotel and drive to the beautiful Entim Camp in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Africa's premier safari destination and home to the great migration. En route, you'll have plenty of time to discuss the itinerary and game-viewing expectations with your guide.
Entim Camp is a luxury tented camp tucked away on the edge of the riverine woodlands on the banks of the Mara River. The camp has 12 luxury, en-suite safari tents raised on wooden decks, with lovely views over the river and expansive plains beyond.
After checking in, we'll enjoy lunch before exploring the beautiful Mara on our first afternoon game drive in search of wildlife. Prepare to be amazed by the sheer abundance of animals that roam the plains of the Mara! We return to camp at sunset for dinner.
If Entim Camp is unavailable for your dates, we will suggest something similar. A different camp may have a different cost.

On safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve
The game-rich Masai Mara National Reserve is one of East Africa's bucket-list safari destinations. Well-known for the spectacular annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra, and other antelope, the reserve spans over 1,500 square km of untamed African savannah and endless plains dotted with distinctive umbrella thorn trees.
The Mara, as it is often referred to, is a first-class game-viewing destination all year round. The great migrating herds usually arrive in the Mara during July, and they start to head south again by late September or early October (depending on the rains). Even outside of peak migration season, the Mara is home to large resident populations of elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, crocodile, hippo, various antelope species, and over 450 bird species. The Mara has one of the highest cheetah densities in the world. Because of Entim Camp's first-rate location in the heart of the Masai Mara, you will often be first on the scene at wildlife sightings.

On safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve
Wake up to another beautiful day in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Our game drive times are flexible. We usually enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and return to the camp for lunch. We can also take a picnic lunch along and stay longer.
You will have a highly experienced, knowledgeable, English-speaking driver-guide who understands what makes a safari special. Because we do not take new clients on board midway through a safari, as some other operators and many private lodges do, we can tailor the game drives to the group's needs and interests and focus on finding animals we have not seen yet. Every day is a new adventure, and you never know what you might find around the next corner!
The Dry season runs from June until September, followed by the short rains from October until December. This is a good time to avoid the busy peak season. January and February are also great times to go. The main rainy season, known as the "long rains," lasts from March until May.

On safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend another day devoted to game viewing in the spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve. The Mara is home to some of the most abundant wildlife populations in the world. Sightings of the “Big 5” (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino) are common, along with hyena, cheetah, serval, and other predators. The open savannah is always busy with plains game like wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, and many types of antelopes, and the scenery lends itself to some epic photography.
If Entim Camp is unavailable for your dates, there are plenty of other camps we can choose from. A different camp may result in a different price for this 6-day Masai Mara wildlife safari.
You can ask us to customize this trip, e.g., by adding additional nights or destinations (at an extra cost).

Masai Mara to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi
The last day starts with our final morning game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. If you want to depart early and include a picnic breakfast along the way, please discuss this with your guide the night before.
After your game drive, you will depart for Nairobi and can expect to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight by late afternoon. Lunch and dinner are not included today but may be purchased along the way. Please do not book a flight that departs earlier than 9 pm (21h00) from Nairobi this evening.
If you do have an earlier flight, it might be best to book it for the following day and spend one more night in Nairobi if you don't want to miss your final morning game drive. We can easily arrange an extra night in Nairobi upon request (extra cost).
You may request to amend this itinerary by adding extra nights in the Mara or adding another destination to create your own custom safari trip (at extra cost).
