Okavango Delta

Okavango Delta

After the airport pick up, we'll depart via 4x4 vehicles to the Delta Region. We will drive to a Mokoro (local dugout canoe) station where we'll meet our local Mokoro polers who will escort us on today’s excursion. The Okavango Delta is a huge expanse of water that has travelled from the Kavango River from the Angolan highlands, and fans out onto the upper Kalahari region to form the largest inland delta in the world. Studded with exotic islands, the Delta is renowned for its incredible variety of birdlife as well as many other animals unique to Southern Africa. We'll explore the channels and waterways by traditional means in a mokoro. This is the local form of transport used to traverse the many waterways of the Delta. Here we will do different activities like game walks and mokoro exploration for 2 nights before returning to Maun en route to Moremi Game Reserve. Your accommodation will be in camping in tents.
