5-Day Kalahari 4x4 Eco-Trail

• You'll be collected from the airport.
• Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.

Transfer to Kgalagdi

Be welcomed by your guide at Upington Airport, or any place of your choice in Upington. The time will depend on either flight arrival (usually mid day) or if collected at your place of choice in Upington. Ideally between 10h00 and 13h00 are comfortable times.

We then travel up north through the red dunes of the Kalahari to the gates of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park at Twee Rivieren. The journey takes about 2 hours.

On arrival, check in to your chalets, settle in and relax. This evening we enjoy an evening safari into the Kgalagadi searching for wildlife in the bush.

Return to camp for a wonderful dinner.

Beginning the Trail

This morning at camp, we enjoy a relaxed one; pack and and prepare for your 4x4 EcoTrail. We enjoy breakfast, and meet with our group at 09h00 at the camp.

From here, we head off on our first leg of the Nossob Eco Trail. Beginning with a game drive through the Nossob River, we turn off into the rugged dunes of the Kalahari and enjoy about 60km of trail. On the way, we stop for any wildlife or interesting features we see.

We arrive at our first campsite for the trail, unload and settle into camp ready for dinner. There is a long-drop toilet and shower available, with all the camping luxuries we can provide. Guests are encouraged to assist with general camp chores, such as setting up camp; nothing too much as our processes are simple. A sense of adventure is advised here!

Enjoy the evening around the fire, listening to sounds of the Kalahari night!

Deep into the Kgalagadi Dunes

Today will be a typical one on trail, waking up at leisure and enjoying breakfast, before packing up camp. We head off further into the dunes, searching for wildlife and the other interesting features seen close up of the Kalahari. We stop in the heat of the day for a break in the shade and light lunch.

Continue on to our next campsite amongst the camel thorn trees, settling down and preparing dinner.

Enjoy another off-the-grid night in the bush!

We provide a fridge for drinks (with ice!) and basic charging capacities for phones/cameras etc.

In Tune with the Bush

Another typical day on trail, by now we are more in tune with the bush and being to focus on raptors, Kalahari landscape features, trees etc. Stop over with magnificent views of the bush and surrounding landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see (and more)!

Settle into camp for the final night, enjoying the company of our fellow trailists. Dinner and a fire again in the bush!

Ending the Trail

On your final morning, depending on what time you must be back in Upington, we can enjoy an early safari.

Return to camp for breakfast and pack up. Check out and drive back to Upington for flights home or own itinerary.
