Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire area

Arusha to Tarangire area

After your arrival at Kilimanjaro or Airport you will be met and after a short briefing you make your way to Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. The Tarangire National Park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then but cheetahs are rarely spotted. After extensive game viewing, you will leave the park in the afternoon to continue your journey towards Lake Manyara National Park and overnight at Maramboi Tented Lodge.

Day 2

Tarangire to Karatu

Tarangire to Karatu

After breakfast, you will go on a private game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes with the escarpment as a backdrop and look out for the flamingoes and tree-climbing lions. After the game drive head to Karatu, the closest town to Ngorongoro Crater, where you will stay for the night. On the way, you have the option of stopping off in Mto wa Mbu, which is a traditional Maasai village, where you can learn more about their culture.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, continue driving through Ngorongoro Conservation area until you reach the endless plains of the Central Serengeti, where you will stay for 2 nights. If you wish, we can incorporate a stop at Olduvai Gorge for you. Go on a first afternoon game drive in this unique environment and in season (April - July), keep looking out for the big migration herds that come through here.

It is the big day, where you head out in search of as many animals as possible. Lunch will be a picnic out in the bush. The migration moves throughout the year and we can't guarantee that you will see it, but there are plenty of other animals to see in the Serengeti and the guides will provide you with a highly informative safari.

Day 5

Serengeti National Park to Karatu

Enjoy a last morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park, before you head back to Karatu for check-in an at Karatu Simba Lodge. Enjoy dinner and an early night to be ready for your last safari in the world-famous Ngorongoro Carter the next morning.

Day 6

Departure to Arusha

Departure to Arusha

Get up early to arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater gate early. Drive up to the crater rim, enjoy the view of the caldera from there, before you descend into one of Africa's most unique game drive environment for your half-day game drive. In the afternoon leave the crater and make your way back to Arusha, where your safari ends.
