The majority of travelers to the region either miss out on Tarangire altogether or venture into the park only for a matter of hours, leaving parts of Tarangire virtually untouched.

Serengeti National Park - Central Serengeti
Depart after breakfast and drive to Serengeti National Park for a game drive. In the afternoon, your driver will serve you a hot lunch en-route. Afterward, proceed with the game drive. In the evening, check in at the camp for a hot running shower, dinner and an overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park is well known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the Big Five – named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters. The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. It is also home to the African leopard. These reclusive predators are commonly seen in the Seronera region, but are present throughout the national park, with a population of around 1,000.

Serengeti National Park - North Kogatende
Depart in the morning, heading to Serengeti North, where you will see the great migration's river crossing. Enjoy a hot lunch, and in the evening, check in to your beautiful camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
River crossings at Kogatende start to occur every day in August as the mega herds settle into the area. For August, September and October, wildlife viewing up here is superb, with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement, as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses. It is not uncommon to see different herds crossing in different directions on the same day.

Serengeti National Park - North Kogatende
Depart early in the morning for a full-day game drive with a hot lunch en-route to maximize the opportunity of spotting many, huge wildebeest migrating and crossing the Mara River. In the evening, head back to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with prides of lions up to 30 strong. However, from August to October, the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note, to actually find a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck.

Serengeti National Park - Central Seronera
After breakfast, you will go on a game drive in North Serengeti along the Mara River for the wildebeest migration crossing. Depart after lunch and drive to Serengeti Central National Park for dinner and overnight at your camp.
The great migration sees a million wildebeest, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life. It is a frenzied 3-week bout of territorial conquests and mating. Witness the survival of the fittest as 40 km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north. It is a brief population explosion, replenishing the species, that produces more than 8,000 calves daily, before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

Magnificent Wildlife: "The only living things which look as if they really belonged to the continent are the wild animals. Between the animals and Africa, there is an understanding that the human beings have not yet earned" – Laurens van der Post, Venture to the Interior, 1963.
Today, the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Masai Mara National Reserve across the border in Kenya, protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth, and have one of the last great migratory systems still intact.

Ngorongoro Crater Tour
After your breakfast, we'll pick you up from your hotel for an early-morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, with a hot lunch served in the afternoon. Your game drive will continue until late afternoon, after which we'll commence the drive back to Arusha, where we'll drop you off at your hotel. This marks the end of your tour.
The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken crater in the world. About 20 km across, 600 m deep and 300 sq km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.
