Day 1

Arrival - Nairobi

Arrival - Nairobi

You will be picked up from Jomo Kenyatta airport and transfer to your accommodation at Giraffe Manor. It is an exclusive boutique hotel, owned by The Safari Collection. Often referred to as one of the most instagrammed properties in the world, Giraffe Manor is set in 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest. Giraffe Manor is one of Nairobi’s most iconic buildings. The historic manor house has extraordinary appeal, which recalls the 1930s when visitors first flocked to East Africa to enjoy safaris. With its stately façade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, guests often remark that it’s like walking into the film Out of Africa. Interestingly, one of its twelve rooms is named after the author, Karen Blixen.

Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast at 8 am, we will pick you up from Giraffe Manor and transfer you to Wilson airport for your morning flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at 11 am for your safari into the domain of the Maasai, Kenya’s cattle-herding nomads determined to preserve their traditions. After lunch, go on an afternoon game drive.
The Masai Mara is home to Kenya’s richest concentration of wildlife and regarded by many travelers as an essential stop on any tour of Africa. When westerners think of Africa and safari, this is the place they imagine – golden grassland plains with wildebeest, zebra, lion and jackal bound together by the cycle of life and death. Three days here will only scratch at the surface of the wonders of the Mara.

Day 3

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend a full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Explore the park in search of the Big Five, trailing the wildebeest migration. An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is hard to believe over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lion, rhino, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, warthog, hyena, jackal, wild dog, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelope and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the Savannah - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
