Pick from your Hotel or Nairobi Airport and transferred to Wilson Airport for the scheduled flight to the Amboseli national park. You will be met at the Airstrip and depart on your first game drive en- route to Tortilis camp. After lunch at leisure.
1600 hrs afternoon game drive Amboseli national park supports a wide range of wildlife particularly elephants roaming in large herds. With Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background it is the scene of many classic African safari shots. A section of the park is a seasonal lake the remainder being swamp-lands, fed by melting snow from Kilimanjaro and Savannah woodland.

Day 2

Amboseli

Amboseli

You have a full day available for game viewing in the Amboseli national park. In between game drives you may wish to take a guided game walk outside the park or relax at the swimming pool. You might be lucky to see masses of bird-life, bat-eared foxes (a very rare sighting), giraffe, lion, buffalo, cheetah, and non-migrating wildebeest. For getting your game-spotting eye ‘in’, Amboseli is ideal. Look out for Thomson’s gazelle and how they differ from impala; Masai giraffe; Burchell’s or plains zebra; and plenty of spotted hyena (known as ‘spotties’ – there are no brown hyena here).

All meals and overnight at Tortilis camp.

Day 3

Masai Mara

Masai Mara

After breakfast transfer to airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport where you will connect to Masai Mara. The flight takes around 45 minutes and you fly over the scenically beautiful Great Rift Valley. On arrival in the Masai Mara you will be met at the airstrip and driven the short distance to camp. Lunch in camp, then head out for afternoon game drive to explore the Masai Mara National Reserve. Returning to camp for pre-dinner drinks around the camp fire, dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Early morning game drive at dawn, returning to the Camp for breakfast. A 10:30am game drive, returning to the camp for lunch. A 3:30pm game drive returning to camp before sundown. Dinner and overnight

Masai Mara is the most famous and popular safari destination in Kenya, if not anywhere in Africa. The appeal of the Mara and adjacent private/community conservancies isn’t difficult to explain. Its mosaic of rolling hills, open grassland and acacia woodland supports a quite incredible profusion and variety of wildlife. The reserve truly blossoms between August and October, when the legendary wildebeest migration - perhaps the world’s most breathtaking wildlife spectacle - crosses into Kenya from Tanzania.

Day 5

Depart

Depart

Early morning game-drive at sunrise, followed by breakfast at the camp. After breakfast transfer to the airstrip to catch the local aviation flight departing at 11:00am for Nairobi. Arriving at Wilson Airport at 12.00pm. Where you will be met and transferred to a restaurant for lunch (lunch to be paid direct). After lunch transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
