Day 1
Aberdares National Park

0800 hrs Pick up from Nairobi depart for the Aberdares (3.5 hours), a park set in a mountain range with great views of Mount Kenya. There are many waterfalls and mist covered, lichen hung trees and you may see elephant, rhino and leopards here as well as long haired colobus monkeys and the mountain bongo if you are lucky. You will arrive at the Aberdares Country Club for lunch after which you will be transferred to The Ark Lodge - a game-viewing lodge, where you will stay for a night. The Ark Lodge offers a unique game viewing experience from the comfort of the lodge, with four viewing decks and a hide. Before dinner, the host gives an interactive talk about the local fauna and animals and dinner is served from 7.30 pm to 9 pm. Then continue to watch the wildlife and if you do want to go to bed, during the night the resident ranger stays on watch and will buzz your room if an interesting animal comes to the water hole!

Day 2

After breakfast you’ll leave The Ark and the Aberdares and continue on to Samburu (4 hours) a place rich in wildlife with its rare Northern species; including the gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. Samburu is a very scenic but lesser known park and is situated along the Ewaso Nyiro River that attracts wildlife in from the surrounding Savannah plains. This is a semi-arid area and can become quite hot but the park is rich in wildlife and is home to a number of large predators including cheetah, lion and leopard. You will arrive in time for lunch after lunch at leisure before afternoon game drive from 1600hrs to 1830hrs. All the meals at your lodge.

Day 3

The whole day will be spent exploring this amazing game reserve, it gives you the refreshment of your mind as the park is not populated and not many people visits here, we have concentration of the Its home to the big five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gravy Zebra, Besia Oryx, Endangered Wild Dog as well as Pun cake Tortoise - Endangered. There are over 450 species of birds identified and aquatic species in the Ewaso Nyiro River including, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches and others. The whole day will be spent exploring the park for the whole day game drive. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.

Day 4
Olpejeta conservancy
Olpejeta conservancy
After breakfast you will journey onto Laikipia (3.5 hours) and the Ol Pejeta conservancy, located in a vast plateau which has the highest density of large mammals in Kenya, including unusual species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra and the Lelwel hartebeest, there are also seven rhino sanctuaries here and you may be lucky enough to see the now rare black rhino. Spend two nights at the stunning, luxury Sweet-waters tented camp, set on the foothills of Mount Kenya - and with amazing views and close proximity to wildlife, it’s a wonderful place to stay. You can spend your time here taking game drives, visiting the rhino sanctuaries (optional) or watching the wildlife at the camp’s watering hole.

Day 5
Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, you’ll leave Sweet-waters camp and take a short game drive through the park before heading to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley, arriving in time for lunch at the Sawela Resort. The lodge is situated on the lake shore and has beautiful grounds with huge cactus, many acacia trees and you are likely to see colobus monkeys, bush-buck, zebra and giraffe wandering the grounds. The main building has an interior garden, fireplaces and low comfy leather sofas. The rooms themselves are spacious, Swahili style chalets either with a balcony or a glass fronted lounge area for relaxing and wildlife viewing. At extra cost after lunch you can take a boat safari where you may see hippos and many species of birds including fish eagles and pelicans and sometimes flamingos.

Day 6
Masai Mara

After an early breakfast you will leave Naivasha and travel to the open grassland of the Masai Mara (4.5 hours), rich in biodiversity and home to a large variety of bird species and wildlife and offers great game viewing and bird watching opportunities. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at the Base Camp, situated in the Masai Mara national reserve, before taking a late afternoon game drive.

Day 7

The next day will be spent exploring the Savannah grasslands of the Masai Mara to track down all the Big Five, along with many other species of mammals, reptiles and birds. You can spend time in camp and take short game drives at your leisure or take a picnic lunch and explore the reserve for the entire day, it’s really up to you! Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.

Day 8
Depart
Depart
After breakfast you’ll head back to Nairobi (5.5 hours) arrival back to Nairobi by mid day. Lunch on own account. Later drop off at the airport.
