On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to Springlands Hotel or similar for an overnight stay. You will meet with your guide for briefing and to assist you in renting the right equipment for climbing. You'll enjoy your day at the Springlands Hotel while swimming under the African sun.

Moshi | Londorossi Gate | Mti Mkubwa Camp
After breakfast and a briefing from your guide, you will drive from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Park Gate (2250m, 1.5 hours). From here, a forest track requiring a 4WD vehicle leads to Lemosho Glades (2000m, 11 km 45 minutes) and a possible campsite. You'll walk along beautiful forest trails to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite, (2750m, 3 hours).

Mti Mkubwa Camp | Shira 1 Camp
After breakfast around 7:00 am, you'll leave Mti Mkubwa Campsite heading towards Shira 1 Camp. The trail gradually steepens and enters the giant heather moorland zone then crosses the Shira Ridge at about 3600m to drop gently down to Shira 1 Camp located by the stream on the Shira Plateau (3500m, 5 hours).

Shira 1 Camp| Shira 2 Camp
You'll wake up early with warm-hot water at your doorsteps for a mountain-style bath (skin rub) while your breakfast is being readied. A gentle walk across the plateau leads to Shira 2 Camp on moorland meadows by a stream (3850m, 1.5 hours). A variety of walks are available on the plateau making this an excellent acclimatization day.

Shira 2 Camp | Barranco Camp
The moorlands soon come to an end and the rocky path leads amongst outcrops to the Lava tower (this is optional if one not taking the western breach) where there are good campsites (4600m, 5 hours). Then, you will continue to Barranco Hut (3900m, 2 hours) for an overnight stay and dinner.

Barranco Camp | Karanga Valley
Barranco Camp (3960m) to Karanga Camp (4035m), the distance is about 6 km.
The morning starts with a scramble up the almost vertical Barranco Wall to an altitude of about 4200m and after approx. For 3 hours, the path now crosses through the southern slopes to reach the Karanga Valley.

Karanga Valley | Barafu Camp
Karanga Camp (4035m) to Barafu Camp (4640m), distance is about 5km.
After breakfast, you will continue in a southeasterly direction to the junction before turning north to reach Barafu Camp (4600m) after about 4 hours. Here, you will take a long rest and prepare for the midnight ascent to the summit.

Barafu Camp | Uhuru Peak | Mweka Camp
At around midnight, you'll head in a northwesterly direction up the southeast valley towards Stella Point on the crater rim. The 6-hour long walk to Stella Point is a mental and physical challenge with the steep face just below Stella posing the ultimate challenge. The time you spend on the summit is determined by the weather and wind conditions. The walk back to Mweka Camp from the summit can take over 7 hours.

Mweka Camp | Mweka Gate | Moshi
After breakfast, from the Mweka Camp, you will continue down into the Mweka village, normally a muddy and long hour walk. In the Mweka village, you will drive to Springlands Hotel. You will be served a delicious hot lunch and a long overdue hot shower. Your overnight stay will be at Springlands Hotel. It is recommended and tips are highly appreciated at the end of their trip. Tips can be given to the guide at Springlands Hotel. This is also where successful climbers receive their summit certificates. Those climbers who reached Stella Point (5,685m) are issued with green certificates and those who reached Uhuru Peak (5,895m) receive gold certificates.
